Promising golden days and starry nights, the iconic Pan Deï Palais is re-opening for the festive season on 20 December
Think of St. Tropez and think of golden summer nights. Or glamorous beach hangouts, yachts and jet-set sunseekers. But one hotel is putting the traditional Tropiezenne on its head, inviting travellers to explore a peaceful, festive side to the former fishing village-turned-glamorous hangout: the Pan Deï Palais.
Opening on 20 December, the historic hideaway is the baby of Airelles, one of France’s chicest hotel groups (with outposts in Courchevel, Val-d’Isère, Provence, and Paris’ Palace of Versaille). Guests can now experience the beloved summertime retreat in a different light, stepping into its discreet ochre facade and secret oasis for a festive escape. With temperates around 15°C and seven hours of sunshine a day, it’s possible to enjoy the Pan Deï Palais’ stunning gardens and beautiful mosaic pool.
What’s more, the hotel is just moments from the main village, and its vibrant Tropezian atmosphere, with many brasseries, bars, and St. Tropez favourites, is open year-round. At the hotel, guests can dine by candlelight at Les Delices du Pan Deï, embracing the seductive spirit of the festive season in an intimate setting.
Winter in St Tropez
Along with being an alternative winter escape, Pan Deï Palais is also one of the South of France‘s most romantic destinations. Dating back to 1835, the Pan Deï Palais was a gift from General Jean-François Allard to his beloved wife, the Indian Princess Bannu Pan Deï. The couple’s romance is honoured in the decor of the maison, in tranquil interiors, Indian carpets, intricate dark woodwork, rich fabrics and 19th-century artworks – feeling like a family home over a hotel.
The maison itself has just three rooms and nine suites, making it the perfect escape for a romantic getaway, or glamorous solo-travel escape, this winter season.
