The capital of Saudi Arabia is fast becoming one of the region’s most exciting metropolitan tourism hubs, thanks to a new wave of global restaurants and hotels opening in the city. The latest opening to be announced is Mondrian Riyadh – the quirky and cool lifestyle brand from international group Ennismore with properties in Doha, Los Angeles, New York and South Miami Beach.

Adding a new facet to Riyadh‘s hotel scene, Mondrian Riyadh Al Malga will open in 2026 as the group’s debut property in the Kingdom, set to attract a set of creative and adventurous lifestyle travellers with its f&b concepts, event spaces and wellness facilities. Mondrian Riyadh Al Malga Hotel and Residences will have 200 keys across 130 standard rooms and suites, with 25 one-bedroom, 23 two-bedroom and ten three-bedroom services apartments available to guests.

In true Ennismore fashion, a group known for boundary-pushing, f&b-driven brands like Faena, 25hours Hotels and SLS, the hotel will have three new restaurants and lounges alongside social spaces encouraging guests to enjoy the hotel outside of their rooms. Much like its sister property in Doha – which lords over the skyline with its quirky and eye-catching design and playful interiors – Mondrian Riyadh will be designed by international award-winning interior architect Tristan Du Plessis. De Plessis’ portfolio includes some of the most spoken-about hospitality destinations worldwide, such as Dubai’s SĀN Beach and Clay and Cape Town’s trendy Gorgeous George hotel.

Mondrian Riyadh will be located in the city’s up-and-coming mixed-use Al Malga Urban Village in the north, fast becoming a hub for boutique shopping, dining, leisure, and tourism. The area also recently announced the opening of a 400-metre-huge cube-shaped skyscraper named Mukaab – a spiralling tower and leisure and entertainment destination in itself. From the new hotel, guests can stroll onto Boulevard Riyadh, home to high-profile events and concerts and have easy access to Najd Village and King Abdullah Financial District – some of the Saudi capital’s best-known sights.

Mondrian Riyadh is just the latest in Ennismore’s grand plans for the Kingdom, which include properties like Faena and SLS at the Red Sea Project and a 25Hours Hotel in Neom‘s Trojena – a planned ski resort in the mountains of Neom.

“We are delighted to team up with Ennismore for this exciting project, which will bring one of the world’s most sought-after hospitality brands to the Kingdom,” says Nabeel Al-Amudi, CEO of Olayan Financing Company. Our partnerships with leading global players come as part of OFC’s long-term strategy to meet the evolving needs of residents and tourists in Saudi Arabia and support the Kingdom’s journey toward achieving the goals of Vision 2030, the wise leadership’s roadmap to sustainable prosperity.”

“Mondrian Riyadh Al Malga will bring a unique lifestyle and hospitality experience to the city. We look forward to raising the bar as a cultural and gastronomic destination for discerning travellers and locals, ” adds Gaurav Bhushan, Co-CEO of Ennismore.

Mondrian’s mission for global expansion also sees 17 hotels and branded residences in the pipeline worldwide, including upcoming openings in Singapore, Hong Kong, Bordeaux and Ibiza.
