Liberty of London arrives in Doha with its first Middle Eastern boutique and bespoke suites at Mandarin Oriental in the city’s most stylish new collaboration

In a city that has fast become a nexus of global design and hospitality, few collaborations feel as seamless as that of Mandarin Oriental, Doha and Liberty London. The British design house, famed for its storied Regent Street flagship and kaleidoscopic floral prints, has reimagined a selection of the hotel’s most elegant rooms and suites – an artistic meeting of two worlds bound by heritage, craftsmanship, and quiet sophistication.
The partnership marks Liberty’s arrival in Qatar and, with it, the debut of Liberty Rooms & Suites at Mandarin Oriental, Doha – a year-long design takeover that transforms four of the property’s most distinguished spaces, including the Baraha Presidential Suite. Set in Msheireb Downtown Doha, the city’s cultural and architectural heart, the hotel provides the ideal canvas for Liberty’s first Middle Eastern expression.
Within these new suites, Liberty’s design language unfolds with thoughtful precision. The interiors draw on the brand’s Botanical Atlas and The House of Liberty collections, layering florals, geometrics, and fine stripes across textiles and wall coverings. Deep emeralds, soft blushes, and rich ochres complement Mandarin Oriental’s contemporary calm, while the brand’s archival prints add a sense of heritage and eccentricity to the refined, light-filled spaces. In the Baraha Presidential Suite – the hotel’s crown jewel – the design comes alive in intricate detailing: custom-upholstered furnishings, patterned drapery, and the tactile allure of Liberty fabrics that invite touch as much as admiration.
Beyond aesthetics, The Liberty Experience transforms a stay into an encounter with design culture. Guests reserving one of the Liberty rooms are welcomed with bespoke amenities, a Liberty-branded gift, and daily breakfast at Mosaic – the hotel’s all-day dining venue that overlooks the lively streets of Msheireb. A private consultation at Liberty Home – the brand’s new showroom in the nearby Msheireb Galleria – completes the experience, where guests can explore Liberty’s world of fabric, furniture, and interiors with a guided tour and refreshments at the Liberty Café.
It’s a thoughtful collaboration, rooted in shared values. “This partnership is founded on our shared DNA of craftsmanship, cultural storytelling, and timeless design,” says Thomas Kinsperger, General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Doha. “By aligning values of authenticity, individuality, and enriching guest experiences, we are able to offer a stay where refined design meets personalised hospitality.”
For Liberty, too, the partnership represents a meaningful extension of its legacy. “Rooted in a meaningful culture of respect for excellent craftsmanship, innovative design, and artistic heritage, the ongoing relationship between Liberty and Mandarin Oriental, Doha is nothing short of extraordinary,’ says Andrea Petochi, Managing Director of Liberty London.
A short walk from the hotel, Liberty Home is the brand’s first international showroom – and its first in the Middle East. Open daily from 10am to 10pm, the space brings Liberty’s 150-year legacy of design to Doha’s growing creative community. Visitors will find signature fabrics, wallpapers, and home pieces drawn from the brand’s vast archives, reinterpreted through a modern lens. For Doha’s residents and visitors alike, it’s an invitation to experience one of Britain’s most recognisable design houses in a distinctly new context.
For travellers, the Liberty suites at Mandarin Oriental offer a rare kind of immersion – where the borders between hotel and home, hospitality and artistry, begin to blur. As Liberty continues to expand its creative world beyond London, its arrival in Doha feels symbolic: a full-circle journey from East to West, now meeting again in the heart of Qatar.
Because here, amid the soft light and symmetry of Msheireb, two design legacies converge – and Doha, once more, proves itself a destination that knows how to host them.
