Those familiar with Emirates business class will already be familiar with the delightful touches the airline offers to guests, such as the Bulgari amenity kits, but the airline has a new amenity that will make flying business on Emirates even more of an occasion – pyjamas. Available from 1 February onwards on long-haul Emirates business class flights, passengers will be treated to the airline’s new complimentary inflight loungewear, which comes in a relaxing and attractive pale blue shade.
Helping them get a cosy night’s sleep in the air, the new pyjama set includes a relaxed cowl neck top and drawstring pants, comfortable slippers, and matching eye mask, and it is available in two sizes. The loungewear is designed to be the, as per Emirates, ‘ideal fit – which is intended for sleeping but also perfect for socialising (so there’s no need to change when visiting the A380 onboard lounge and bar or heading into arrivals.
The new pyjama set is made of a super soft premium modal material, which customers are promised to find lightweight and breathable. The design takes inspiration from contemporary athleisure trends, with botanic fibres and jersey knit style, which means the loungewear has an elegant drape that flatters various body types, ensuring soft and stretchy comfort above the clouds. Perfect for taking away, the pyjamas are presented to guests in a drawstring pouch.
While the airline promises to roll out the pyjamas on Emirates business class flights on 1 February, it has not been confirmed which exact routes will offer the new service – as the airline is often known to swap and change its rollouts. The airline has promised the full pyjama set will be available on flights of nine hours – the loungewear top, pants, slippers and eye mask, while flights with a duration of over 2 hours and 30 minutes will offer business class passengers the complimentary slippers and eye mask.
The new rollout is the latest step in the airline’s mission to enhance and upgrade its business class and inflight offerings, which have often seen criticism for its outdated 2-3-2 business class layouts on older models. Recent investments of the Dubai-based airline include a huge retrofit project of 120 aircraft with upgraded cabin interiors, new menus with better quality ingredients, exclusive champagne partnerships, live onboard TV, luxury amenity kits, an improved wine list and many more on the horizon.
The pyjamas launch has been a work-in-progress for a year and trailed on routes to and from New York and Boston – receiving positive feedback from business class passengers.
