Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts has announced plans for its next major opening—and it’s a bold one. Set to welcome guests in 2030, the Bvlgari Resort & Mansions Abu Dhabi will occupy a private, horseshoe-shaped island just off the city’s coastline. The location offers uninterrupted views of the Arabian Gulf on one side, and the domed silhouette of Qasr Al Watan and Abu Dhabi’s skyline on the other.
The new project will include 60 rooms and suites, 30 beachfront villas, and 90 private mansions—each with its own distinct character and sweeping views of the sea, the city, or the island’s quieter coves. The property promises a blend of contemporary Italian design with thoughtful nods to Emirati heritage, brought to life by Milan-based ACPV ARCHITECTS, Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel.
Bvlgari’s latest address is designed to feel like a true urban retreat. Guests will arrive via a purpose-built bridge or by sea, adding to the sense of exclusivity. Once there, they’ll have access to a private beach, a yacht club with a 40-berth marina, and a long list of leisure and dining offerings.
As expected, the brand’s signature venues will all be present: Il Ristorante – Niko Romito, Il Caffè, the Bvlgari Bar, and Hōseki, the intimate Japanese dining concept that’s already gained a cult following in Dubai. A Turkish restaurant and beachfront venue La Spiaggia will round out the food and drink lineup.
A 2,000-square-meter Bvlgari Spa will include a 25-meter indoor pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, and open-air deck with sea views, while a landscaped sanctuary running through the resort nods to the region’s connection to craftsmanship and conservation.
The resort’s most striking feature may be its residential component. Alongside the hotel, 90 private mansions will be built—some with docks, others with direct beach access, and all designed with large, open layouts and a mix of modern and regional design influences.
The project is being developed in partnership with Eagle Hills, an Abu Dhabi-based real estate company led by Mohamed Alabbar (also known for launching Emaar and its developments like Downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa).
‘We continue our journey of bringing Bvlgari’s distinctive elegance to the world’s most remarkable destinations,’ said Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bvlgari. ‘This project is a tribute to Abu Dhabi’s cultural identity, blending timeless sophistication with modern luxury.’
Abu Dhabi may be known for its cultural institutions and coastline, but with Bvlgari entering the fold, it’s set to become a new contender for the region’s most design-forward, private island escape.
