Fujairah is often overlooked when it comes to UAE staycations and holiday destinations, but at just a two-hour drive from Dubai, the mountainous, beachy emirate provides the perfect spot for a truly relaxing escape. On this rocky coastline is where Address Hotels opened its second-ever beach resort – following on from the success of Address Beach Resort in Dubai’s JBR – and reinvented the emirate’s sleepy hotel offering. Like its sister property, it combines the best of Address hotels – the gleaming public spaces, spacious rooms, and beautifully designed property – but with a laid-back atmosphere, private beach and multiple swimming pools. That signature Address fragrance greets you upon arrival; there’s the same modern Arabian aesthetic, and there are all the five-star facilities like a fitness space, spa and wellness area, children’s club, room service and multiple dining outlets. Enjoy day trips snorkelling, fishing, diving, hiking, and exploring nearby towns (like Dibba and Khorfakkan) before returning to the comfort of this Dubai-standard hotel.

Address Beach Resort Fujairah lies on a stretch of coastline in the northern reaches of the emirate, backing onto the warm waters of the Gulf of Oman and framed by jagged peaks. Nature, relaxation and adventure are at the heart of the resort, with a private beach of pale grey sands offering diving and watersports. But those who want to explore will be delighted at the nearby town Khorfakkan, home to a head-turning Greek-Roman amphitheatre and the famous Khorfakkan waterfall, along with great coffee shops and a small heritage village museum with shops. Dibba is also nearby, home to Dibba Bay oysters and famed for diving.

Well-proportioned, modern, comfortable and tastefully designed, the hotel offers a wide variety of categories across its 196 bedrooms. Entry-level deluxe king rooms have either mountain or sea views, and there are beautiful one- and two-bedroom suites – plus a presidential offering – for more luxe stays. Part of real estate giant Emaar, the Address brand knows how to build and design hotels and rooms, and these are perhaps the most stylish and impressive in the industry. There’s the same oceanic, natural scheme as the original Address Beach Resort, with butter-soft blue and white carpets and complementing artwork and a large, glossy white marble bathroom stocked with Balmain toiletries. Some suites have marble walls, parquet floors and organic ceramic fixtures reminiscent of a European townhouse.
Food and drink: 7/10
Address Beach Resort Fujairah has all the classic Address offerings: the all-day brasserie, pool eatery and elegant lobby lounge. The Restaurant – the group’s signature dining concept – is present, with a bright and airy dining room, wrap-around terrace and failsafe lunch and dinner menu. It’s the perfect spot for a languid lunch complete with rose wine and Dibba Bay oysters or dinner of Arabian classics like mezze, mixed grills pizza, pasta and fresh seafood with ocean views. A brilliant breakfast is also served at The Restaurant, with a multitude of buffets and live cooking stations, serving everything from waffles, omelettes, baked goods and with fridges of yoghurts and fresh fruit, juices and platters groaning with cold meats, cheeses and other treats. Sustenance by the pool is delivered in the form of the pool lounge – where wraps, smoothies and burgers are the meal of choice – and pastries, coffees and afternoon tea are served in the lobby lounge. The latter is popular with Fujairah’s most stylish locals, who hover over pots of Arabic coffee in hushed tones.
Spa and facilities: 8/10
What makes Address Beach Resort one of the best hotels for staycations and more extended vacations is its excellent range of facilities, tickling off everything needed from a five-star resort. The Address Spa offers the usual massages, facials and body treatments, plus two hammams, a nail salon and steam rooms. The gym is also fantastic, overlooking the main pool area and with a glimpse of the ocean, and offering brand new Technogym machines and options for personal training and classes.
Delightfully, there are three pools, a family, a main pool and an adult pool, which all have their own vibe – head to the adult pool for beautiful design and a peaceful poolside. A handful of watersports at Al Boom Water Sports Club, beach golf (using biodegradable balls filled with fish food) and a trip to Dibba Bay oyster farm. The Qix Kids Club and outdoor play are also great for entertaining little ones.
The vibe: 7/10
Relaxed, beachy and go-slow. This is a resort that’s great for families and couples and even groups of friends, who can enjoy pool days, watersports and drinks on the ocean-view terrace. In the lobby lounge, there’s a more glamorous feel – thanks to locals enjoying tea and coffee – and the vibe shifts as you walk around, from the peaceful adult pool to the playful children’s areas and different bar sections – from hushed sundowners to more lively cocktails at the family pool bar.
