The new business class cabin will debut this year and offers lie-flat beds and closing sliding doors
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, business class travel has increased in popularity, thanks to travellers seeking more space and privacy. In response to the growing demand, airlines across the world have been upgrading their business-class offerings and cabins. Joining global airlines, the new flydubai business class suites were unveiled this week.
Dubai’s low-cost carrier (a spin-off of flagship Emirates) released the first photos of its new suites at the city’s Arabian Travel Market, revealing it will add 10 private premium suites on select flights this year, with the first flights with the beautiful new suite scheduled to join the fleet this November. The new cabin offering will be available on short-haul flights, with select longer flights planned for the first quarter of 2024.
Inside the new Flydubai business class suite
The new Flydubai business class suites have been designed exclusively for single-aisle Boeing 737 aircraft, with 10 spacious suites introduced across the carrier’s newest aircraft. All suites will offer direct aisle access, an upgrade from the airlines’ current business offering, which sees two cabins per side of the aisle.
The suite offers full privacy and comfort, with a sliding closable door and lie-flat bed, alongside discreet and thoughtful stowage solutions for passengers to store their personal items while keeping them readily accessible. All suites come with a 17-inch 4k built-in touchscreen with hours of new and classic movies and popular TV shows available to watch, with Bluetooth allowing for use of personal headphones.
A selection of complimentary meals, snacks and hot and cold beverages are also available to passengers in the new Fluydubai business class suites: hot meals on flights over 90 minutes and lighter cold meals on shorter flights.
‘flydubai is committed to exceeding expectations. Our business and product offerings have evolved from the initial no-frills model over the past 14 years to cater to the ever-growing needs of our customers and the markets we operate to,’ said Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO at flydubai, on the launch. ‘We have come a long way since the introduction of our first Business Class offering in 2013, which has served us well. Today, we are proud to unveil a new premium product which rivals the Business Class experience offered by many airlines on wide-body aircraft. We will continue to invest in innovation to enhance the customer experience across our growing fleet.”
‘The new business suite will take comfort on board to the next level,’ added Daniel Kerrison, vice president of inflight product at flydubai. ‘The increased height of the back shell, a sliding suite door and direct aisle access for every passenger create a level of privacy never before seen on Boeing 737s. We have been working with Safran Seats and JPA Design over the past three years to develop an experience that meets the growing demand for premium air travel services across our network, offering passengers wide-body comfort on our narrow-body fleet.’
