Rosewood Abu Dhabi has an air of sophisticated tranquillity, its spacious and intimate layout fostering a sense of refined exclusivity. Emirati families gather for leisurely afternoons, enjoying pastries and teas in the light-filled Majlis Lounge. A subtle hum of activity surrounds the hotel, signalling its popularity, yet a sense of abundant space remains. Breakfasts are unhurried, the pool and its surrounding areas provide ample room for relaxation, and the staff delivers impeccable service with a genuine warmth that complements the hotel’s luxurious atmosphere. Guests are stylish and considerate, ensuring that Rosewood Abu Dhabi maintains its reputation as an oasis of tranquility within the vibrant city.
Rooms and Suites: 8/10
Rooms and suites are modern and neutral in colour scheme – with plenty of whites, soft carpets and dark wood accents (the latter at times make it feel a little outdated, but many love its established charm). The stand-out offering is the Royal Two-Bedroom Suite – featuring its own office, gym, sauna, and ample living space. Elegant and spacious, the suite showcases the stunning design of the hotel, inspired by the glistening Arabian Gulf. Open-plan living areas have a dining table and a kitchen, complete with everything for a comfortable and luxurious stay, and thoughtful, curated touches come in the form of artworks and sculptures that reflect the culture and heritage of the region. A generous touch is complimentary access to the exclusive Manor Club executive lounge, where suite guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast, snacks, and beverages throughout the day.
Our One-Bedroom Suite offered us a stylish and comfortable retreat for our weekend getaway trip. The suite featured a bedroom with a king bed, equipped with a 55” flat-screen TV and an iPad® in-room touch service including temperature, lighting, curtains, and iPad® hotel applications for in-room dining. The elegant Italian marbled bathroom had double vanity mirrors, a deep soaking tub, and a separate rain shower. Premium amenities, like fragrant bath salts and Roberto Cavalli toiletries, further enhance the indulgent experience. The highlight of the suite was the breathtaking view of the waterfront and the Abu Dhabi skyline from the floor-to-ceiling windows. The hotel staff impressed us with their professionalism and courtesy: they provided us with a dedicated butler service and a complimentary breakfast in bed on the day of check-out – so be prepared for thoughtful and intuitive touches.
Food And Drink: 9/10
There are eight dining outlets located within the hotel and its surroundings: some concepts Rosewood regulars will appreciate and enjoy, and a few innovative and exciting locations. Breakfast is served at Aqua, the spacious all-day dining outlet that offers stunning views of the waterfront and the city skyline from its floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor terrace. Served until 11 AM, it has all the favourites, buffet, live cooking, and à la carte, and a special emphasis is made on healthy – a fresh juice bar and organic options are daily treats for this reviewer (plus, there’s a great selection of gluten-free and vegan dishes). For something more casual, there’s the poolside Glo with all the snacks and beverages. A favourite with locals, afternoon tea and coffee break at the Majlis Lobby Lounge offers tea lovers the chance to enjoy a variety of menus during the leisurely afternoon hours at one of the best spots to take in the stunning panoramic views of Abu Dhabi.
For dinner, there’s the critically acclaimed BB Social Dining – a Dubai export popular with the royal family – and Rosewood’s signature restaurant, Dai Pai Dong – serving authentic Cantonese cuisine. The former is the place to socialise, with the trendy restaurant featuring a lively atmosphere, and a diverse menu of Bao’s, Bowls and Bites. The latter is the place to relax and unwind; the restaurant is named after the open-air food stalls that serve authentic Cantonese and Chiu Chow dishes in Hong Kong. The restaurant features a dim sum library, a speakeasy bar, and an open kitchen, creating a lively and inviting atmosphere. The roast goose is wonderful – roasted, and crispy, and the mocktails are creative and well-priced. One can also visit the Dragon’s Tooth bar, a hidden speakeasy that takes cues from the 1920s Shanghai jazz movement, for some creative cocktails and live music. It’s refreshing to have the choice between global, local and Asian, so no trip ever feels the same.
Spa and Facilities: 8/10

The spa features nine state-of-the-art treatment rooms, a whirlpool Jacuzzi, a sauna with fibre-optic lighting, and a steam room with colour therapy. Whether guests are looking for a signature journey of indulgent wellness featuring signature services infused with indigenous Arabian ingredients or a facial by sustainable beauty brand Votary, Sense Spa offers a personalised and holistic approach to wellness. The spa also boasts stunning views of the water and the city skyline, creating a serene and luxurious atmosphere for relaxation and rejuvenation. The 25-meter outdoor swimming pool is cooled in the summer and heated in the winter, allowing you to enjoy refreshing swims any time of the day, whatever the season.
