The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira has launched two new facials from Subtle Energies, a family-run brand based on the healing teachings of Ayurveda
Summer can wreak havoc on the skin. Between the constant flow or drying air conditioning, the scorching dry days, the sticky humid nights and lathers or suncream – not to mention frequent travelling to cooler climes – the summer months can leave skin looking a little lacklustre. Ahead of the winter season, and with it, the many events, parties and social occasions we look forward to, The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira has launched two new facial treatments designed to not only leave the skin feeling plump and youthful but also help heal and regenerate from within.
The two. new treatments come to the hotel from award-winning Australian skincare brand, Subtle Energies, a brand founded by former accountant turned clinical aromatherapist and Ayurveda and holistic health practitioner Farida Irani, who founded the brand over 30 years ago. Inspired by Farida’s own wellness philosophy, each treatment is tailored to individuals by identifying their unique mind-body type, known in Ayurveda as ‘dosha’. Guests will be able to identify their body state, and with it skin type, from the Ayurvedic doshas – Vata, Kapha and Pitta – before enjoying tailored treatments to truly get to the root of any problem, along with healing, soothing, nourishing and promoting antiageing.
Farida Irani
The Subtle Energies team has meticulously trained each therapist at The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira to identify each client’s dosha, and understand what defines their mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. The treatments use the Subtle Energies products, perfected by Farida in what she calls The Art of Blending – maintaining the integrity of active formulas using ethically sourced natural ingredients, enzymes and vitamins. Living by the ancient motto of, ‘if you can’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin’, ingredients in the facias include the Kakadu Plums – the highest concentration of Vitamin C in any food in the world – and Mogra Jasmine, known to Farida as the ‘oil of joy’. Despite its nod to the City of Gold, and the luxurious Mandarin Oriental Itseld, the products even include the concentrated use of 24-karat gold, tapping into its true healing and antibacterial properties, rather than its eye-catching capabilities.
Available now, guests will be able to book the 90-minute Vegan Collagen Facial for AED830, a transformative experience harnessing the power of vegan collagen. The Subtle Energies team meticulously designs this to mimic human collagen, providing deep hydration and acting as a natural filler to resort to elasticity and plumpness. Vitamin-rich active ingredients like Kakadu Plum, Ashwagandha and Bacillus Ferment also feature in the new treatment.
Enhancing cellular renewal, the 90-minute Advanced Holistic Biotech Facial (AED900) is also on offer, transforming the skin with deep and intense hydration. Guest will leave with a plump and youthful appearance, with the facial featuring the latest in bio-technology, blending skin science, vegan collagen and hyaluronic acid.
