Running until 29th February, the new exhibition is a striking collection of black and white photographs, paying homage to human emotion and the golden age of cinema
As the only hotel to be designed, inside and out, by the late great Zaha Hadid, ME Dubai is one of the city’s most visually impressive hotels – wowing visitors time and time again with its gleaming, all-white futuristic lobby, space-age furniture and jaw-dropping suites – designed by the Dame herself before her passing. The hotel also regularly hosts art exhibitions, supporting the region’s fashion, architecture and arts ecosystem; and the latest exhibition is worth a visit. The hotel has unveiled portrait artist Natalya Urmanova’s extensive collection entitled ‘Power of Seeing,‘ – showcasing Urmanova’s keen eye for detail and presenting her artistic and personal journey through a series of captivating black-and-white portraits.
With more than 15 years of extensive background in the fashion industry working with luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Saint Laurent, Natalya has cut her teeth in photography. Shooting across counties and continents for fashion shows in Paris and Milan, she developed a keen eye for detail and now, is on a search for inner freedom and artistic expression.
In the latest exhibit in ME DUbai’s future-centric third-level atrium, Power of Seeing comprises a series of black and white portraits inspired by the golden age of cinema, her close relationships with fashion houses, and her deep-rooted family history. The series also pays homage to the human soul and architectural essence inspired by Zaha Hadid – emphasising the potency of artistic, sensual, and emotional expression as a testament to how humans connect with each other.
The exhibition is open now and runs until February 29th, and hotel guests, external visitors, and art lovers are invited to visit ME Dubai’s creative space for free and explore Natalya Urmanova’s artistry and philosophy behind her lens.
From its dedicated gallery space, ME Dubai has hosted rotating cheviots of artworks and collections from international artists, strengthening its to switch Dubai’s creative community. Past artists to have exhibited include Anton Selone, Filippo Minelli, Neda Salmanpour and renowned British artist Sophie Tea – who has brought her provocative works to the hotel on numerous occasions.
